On This Day: October 8th

Game 3 ALDS Walk-off HR in bottom of 10th inning against Angels to send the Sox to the ALCS.

This was one of the first big walk offs I had. It was super late, into extra innings the bottom of the 10th inning and there were two outs.  Pokey (Reese) was on base and the Angels manager (Mike Scioscia) decided to put in a lefty to face me, for the lefty on lefty mashup.  But I had faced him in Game 1 and knew what was coming.  He threw me a slider first pitch, I waited on it and took it the other way over the Green Monster to win the game. Circling around the bases was such a great moment. Moving on with my team to the ALCS was eye opening. You always dream of getting to the World Series and when you have that feeling like, “hey we could do this,” it just motivates you as a team even more.
