How Red Sox great David Ortiz showed love to Yankees' Aaron Judge

David Ortiz can't get enough of Aaron Judge.

A month after showering the towering Yankees rookie with praise in New York City, Big Papi was at it again at the All-Star Game in Miami this week.

Here's what the the retired slugger Ortiz told the MLB Network's Harold Reynolds, according to Mass Live's Jen McCaffery:

"It's an avatar," Ortiz told Reynolds of what it's like watching Judge. "This guy is not human. I mean, I experienced something yesterday... I had like a really good view of what was happening down here yesterday and to be honest with you, we experienced something new yesterday during the home run derby better than ever before. We had guy that it seems like he was hitting from both sides of the plate. Because he was hitting balls oppo. Not one, not two and not just over the fence.
"I was watching that and I was like, this ridiculous. So to me, yesterday was a new experience, a new stage in the home run derby, because I have never seen anything like that before."

Judge is hitting .329 with 30 homers and 66 RBi in 84 games. He's leading the league in homers, on-base percentage (.448), slugging percentage (.691) and OPS (1.139).

The California native and 2013 first-round pick has put himself at the front of the conversation for American League Rookie of the Year and MVP. He won the Home Run Derby on Monday and was the AL's leading vote getter for the All-Star Game.
